The freighter plane may become a thing of the past if airlines failed to devise strategies to make their cargo operations more efficient, an aviation industry specialist has warned. Air freight traffic has grown at 5.3 per cent annually since 1980. Today goods worth $6.4 trillion travel by air — that’s 35 per cent of all world trade by value.
